Deborah Kennedy PhD, CNS
Dr. Deborah Kennedy is a certified nutrition specialist with a Masters degree in nutrition and exercise physiology. Dr. Kennedy completed her PhD at Tufts University in nutrition biochemistry with a focus on pediatric cancer and nutrition.
She has had a clinical practice for over 15 years specializing in obesity, chronic disease, cancer and heart disease. Her extensive research includes antioxidants and cancer, nutrition, weight loss and its effect on the heart, obesity, complementary medicine, and planning worksite wellness programs.
She has worked at Columbia University, Cornell University, NY Presbyterian Hospital, the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, and Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. She was the scientific director for the Foundation for the Advancement of Cardiac Therapies and the founder and director of the Integrative Therapies Program for Children with Cancer at Babies and Children's Hospital in NYC.
Dr. Kennedy lives in Connecticut with her husband and son. She lectures frequently to new moms on how to teach their children to eat healthy and not succumb to being "picky eaters." She and her family follow a whole foods way of eating. She is able to prepare not only wholesome but delicious meals because of her love of cooking and previous experience as a chef.
